Bodhidarma - Forefather of Kempo
BOW - Entering and leaving training area
Beginning and end of class
HANDSHAKE
- Use 2 hands when shaking Professors' or instructors'
hand. Shake with both hands putting your left hand over
their right hand. The Professor or instructor should put
their left hand on top of both of your hands. This is
tradition and shows respect.
BELT (OBI) - DO NOT WASH BELT/SASH
No wearing belt/sash outside of training area
No dragging of belt/sash or playing with belt/sash

Tying of Belt/Sash
KIAI
(Spirit) - 3 important points
1. Offensive - more power to deliver blows, blocks and
kicks
2. Defensive - absorb the power of punches, kicks thrown
by opponent
3. Psychological - to scare opponent, to catch opponent
off guard
